My design for Chapelizod Community Library came from the idea of creating an opaque building, which during the day provides even, diffuse light within and at night, illuminates to create a beautiful and mystical landscape. Tow timber towers stand like a piece of furniture, holding the books, within the glass envelope. This envelope sits just above the existing stone walls of the park and church and the new limestone clad walls that you enter the library through
