Eye Of The Liffey - Thomas Conlon

My design through form embraces the sweeping curve of the site and opens itself to the river and sky above. Internal spaces are visually connected to the view up river, a theme which dictates the geometry of the design. A paved public space to the south fronts the library, the counterpoint to the tree clad escape to the north. The use of granite grounds the building and through its lack of openings blocks interaction between the library and the turbulent streets.
